Descrizione del progetto

The project is located on a farm near the city of Mococa, 250km from the city of São Paulo in Brazil. We were asked to renovate a chapel that had been unused for a while and therefore needed to be reactivated for the religious rituals of residents and workers in the region.

Located on a plateau in the very center of the territory, the volume of pre-existence that stands out in the landscape is crossed by a single main door and a few windows.

Starting from the most varied paths that give access to the church, in the intervention, when we demolished the transepts and transformed them into large window-doors, the chapel becomes part of the crossings paths and presents itself as a place of encounter in the landscape, that is, a religious space .
